Founder Anja Niemi (b. 1976) is a Norwegian visual artist and photographer known for her distinctive photographs in which she is both author and character. Her images have gained recognition for their cinematic quality and narrative depth. Educated at London College of Printing and Parsons School of Design in New York, Niemi’s work has been exhibited globally in museums, galleries and art fairs, five monographs have been published and her work is represented in many prominent corporate and private collections.

In 2026 Niemi set up THE PROPS & COSTUME DEPT.  in hope that her ever growing collection can inspire new characters and become a part of someone else's stories.
